DHS Report: Drop "Islamo-Fascist" Language
Bad news for David Horowitz from CAP. New DHS report recommends (and only a few years late at that!) avoiding such language, as it may offend moderates and boost support for radicals.
Really? Go figure.

Maybe Frank Staheli will have to stop blogging about the "Radical Islamic Monster."
ReplyDeleteIt's probably too late now, but DHS actually has a point that goes beyond political correctness. Al Qaeda's only hope is to rally lots of Muslims against a common enemy-- why fall into that trap?
Of course, if we stop verbally insulting Muslims that won't be very effective in winning hearts and minds unless we stop killing them too.
Check out the recent Annual Arab Public Opinion Poll.
I'd say it's about time we started doing our homework. Our failure to understand the nuances of language and culture has resulted in so many errors and miscalculations. And the inflammatory rhetoric only backfired on us. Lessons learned much too late.
ReplyDeleteI suppose we conservatives should stop calling liberals socialists, because that might make you actually become socialists.
