Adults in charge again.
PRESIDENT Barack Obama has demanded that American defence chiefs review their strategy in Afghanistan before going ahead with a troop surge.
There is concern among senior Democrats that the military is preparing to send up to 30,000 extra troops without a coherent plan or exit strategy.
I think we already know the endgame: the former Soviet Union. And they were next door neighbors. These wars will drag us down to backruptcy, just like the Soviets. It's good to see he is at least looking for an exit plan, though.

It won't be pretty, but the obvious end game is to cut a deal with the Taliban (maybe we could purchase all the opium at a good price, and use it to produce cheap meds for poor people).
ReplyDeleteAfghanistan needs economic help, but they won't get it unless peace breaks out. So let's buy peace, it's cheaper than war.
